Dr. Burleson is board certified in colon and rectal surgery, completing his fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Along with extensive experience with inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer and polyps, Dr. Burleson is an expert in laparoscopic colorectal surgery teaching courses on a national level. In addition, his practice encompasses colonoscopy for cancer screening, new and relatively painless techniques for hemorrhoids, diverticulitis, and the spectrum of colorectal problems. At present he serves as chief of the division of colon and rectal surgery at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. He resides in Plano with wife Jennifer and daughter Jessica.
