Jefferson B. Hurley, M.D.
Dr. Hurley received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University with a major in Biochemistry. He then obtained his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After completing an internship and residency in general surgery at St. Paul Medical Center, he worked as a missionary surgeon in Nigeria, West Africa for one year. He then returned and completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Hurley is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons. He is also a member of the Texas Medical Association, and is active in the Dallas County Medical Society.
Dr. Hurley has an interest in colorectal cancer, diverticulitis and anorectal diseases such as hemorrhoids and anal fistula. He has a special interest in reconstructive procedures for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, and has extensive experience in complex laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
He is married to Carrie Hurley and they have three children: Bennett, Hogan and Annie.
