Dr. Macaluso graduated AOA from UT Southwestern and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He completed a surgical residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery in Florida where he received specialized training in Laparoscopic Colon Resections. He has taught national courses to colleagues regarding Laparoscopic Colon Surgery, performed multiple lectures, and is a mentor to local surgeons teaching laparoscopic techniques for colon and rectal surgery. He also has interests in screening, diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, office treatment of hemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease, fecal incontinence, and constipation.
